Teach you How to Make High Quality Wood Pellets
Using flat die pellet machine to produce wood pellets is not so complicated, but there are something important that should be noticed in the following three aspects: binding, size and content specification and pelletizing.
Pellets are held together through the lignin, which is common in most substance, especially in wooden chips. Sawdust can be collected to produce wood pellets or together with other bio-products such as fruit pits, nutshells, etc to make pellets. But these bio-products may not contain lignin. So in order to hole the wood pellets together, the binding should be added into the working process to bind these materials together.
Speaking of the size and content specifications, a hammer mill is used to reduce the wood to the granular form. The size of the pellet material should be with the diameter and the length of no more than 1/4-inch and 1 1/12-inch respectively. If the size of the wood is small enough (less than 1/4-inch in diameter), the hammer mill will not be used. Pellets breaking will cause problems with dust during operation of a pellet stove. To lower the amount of dust, saw dust is reduced from the mixture in the pelletizing process.
When the materials run through the flat die pellet machine, it applies steam and pressure to process the wood. Lignin is useful at this time, which causes the wood by-products (such as saw dust or tree bark) to stick together. The wood and bio materials are passed through the roller system. The rollers in the flat die pellet mill forces the wood going through the die, which molds the wood into a pellet shape. After this the wood is cooled by cooling air. Moister must be reduced by 5 to 15 percent in the wood or biomass material after pelletizing, so the wood pellets should berun through a dryer to remove moisture, which can ensure the quality of pellets.
