If you have your own pellet machine or pellet press, with your pellet machine What kind of pellets can you make?
What pellets you make depend on the machine you have. There are include different flat die pellet machines and
ring die pellet machines. We will focus on the flat die as it is the most common, least investment and easiest to use
at home or small business.
If you have a pellet machine with rollers that turn over top of a stationary die, you most likely have a wood pellet
machine.You can get this in a diesel pellet machine, electric pellet machine and even a PTO pellet machine for your
tractor.Thisshould be geared lower(approx. 100-150 RPM). With the wood pellet press, you can make pretty much
all materials that you would want to pelletize into pellets. This would include sawdust, wood chips(1/4" or less is
best), hay, cardboard, newspaper, leaves, corn stalk,soy plant,grass, alfalfa,switch grass, manure and so much more.
It makes harder materials such as wood chips or saw dust into pellets much quicker and less effort than a feed macine.
It will of course make soft and feed material into pellets easily as well. Because it is geared lower than the feed pellet ma
chine, it will be a little lower of an output for feed material. If you want to be able to process wood or all kinds of mate
rials,this is the best choice.
